Drivalia’s electric charging is powered entirely by renewable energy sources

Drivalia’s charging stations use electricity coming 100% percent from renewable sources. This is attested by Enel Energia's Green Certification, received by the CA Auto Bank Group's rental and mobility company as evidence of its attention to the environment.

  • Drivalia has received Enel Energia’s Green Certification, confirming that the electricity used in its charging stations is sourced 100% from renewable energy.
  • Drivalia’s charging network includes over 1,800 charging stations – 1,500 of which are in Italy – available to CA Auto Bank and Drivalia customers, as well as all users of the Drivalia Recharge app.
  • Renewables play a central role in the energy transition. In 2023, 44% of Europe’s electricity was generated from renewable sources (wind, sun, and water). Additionally, 90% of Italians consider renewable energy and the electricity transition to be a top priority.

Climate change and fossil fuel pollution drive governments, companies, and consumers to embrace sustainable development models and commit to the energy transition. In this context, the increasing use of electricity generated from renewable sources plays a strategic role. In 2023, 44% of European electricity came from renewable sources (particularly wind, sun and water)1. Additionally, there is a growing consumer awareness of environmental protection, with 90% of Italians considering renewable energy and the electricity transition a top priority2.

To promote the increased use of renewable energy, it is crucial to establish a virtuous cycle between consumers and energy producers. This is why Drivalia has chosen to power its electric charging infrastructure — currently comprising 1,500 charging points across Italy — exclusively with energy generated from renewable sources like water, sun, wind, and heath from the Earth.

The certification, issued by Enel Energia under a new supply contract effective since April 1, is validated by the “Guarantees of Origin” system managed by the Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE), in compliance with EC Directive 2009/28/EC.

Enel Energia’s Green Certification is a significant acknowledgment of Drivalia’s dedication to advancing the energy transition in the mobility sector. This commitment is further reflected in the company’s offering of products and services related to electric mobility, including E+Share electric car sharing, the e+Charge charging network, and e+Park dedicated parking facilities, all of which form the E+Drivalia range.
